2 weeks already!
For those not following, this is a crazy experiment explained in this post.
This is a summary post of the second week, detailed posts are covered in day 8, day 9, day 10, day 11, day 12, day 13, and day 14.
Week 1 summary is available here
Day 8's post was a bit of a release. There are some people on the internet that just have no sense of good. If they don't like what I'm doing, close the tab. If they do like what I'm doing, say that in a way that comes across as that. If they want to comment, comment like they would want to read about themselves. If they think I'm doing it wrong, do it themselves, how they think it is "right".
What I actually did was go out for a date night with my partner, to a restaurant in the Sydney CBD, The Owl House, who used BitPOS to accept bitcoin. A nice dinner with flying pigs, cocktails, good food!
Day 9 we went to Black Star Pastry in Rosebery, Sydney. Got some juice, a coffee, and a sandwich. The juice was actually from Joostice in Newtown, who also accepted on Day 6.
Day 10 I got a ... $101 ... parking ticket! The post shop did not accept bitcoin :(. Flew back to Wellington that night.
Day 11 back at work, just chatting with friends about trip etc.
Day 12 I finally picked up some petrol vouchers I bought on Day 5. I can now buy food and petrol from Mobil!
I also detailed a few conversations I've had with vendors who aren't accepting, and their reasons why. Worth a read!
Day 13 I talked about what I should do about some decent sized donations I have recieved. Any comments on that, just post a comment or send an email. I've been suggested giving to the first bar/cafe that accepts, donating to a local charity, donating to a bitcoin charity or donating to a internet based charity.
Day 14 I wrote a detailed post about how to accept the paper wallet tips I've been handing out. Hopefully I see some of these getting redeemed!
Thats it for this week, tune in next week!
